         in response to wayneside...

I wish I had good news for you but I never found any. Although at least here in the state of Utah there was a new bill that passed to help someone in your shoes that alows some aid in the cost of clean up. I will caution you though if city, state or federal agencies find that your house was tested and failed as the owner of the house YOU will be responsible for the cost of clean up . If the levels are as bad as they were in my home It will be very costly. I had to pay about 6 thousand for the cost of the clean up and what was left of the house was literaly a shell. No carpet most wall down to studs all cabinetry left plus everything i owned inside the house that was not metal. And even that because of the chemicals used had to be thourouly cleaned afterwards to stop it from coroading .  My house was originally appraised at 110 thousand when i bought it. After the clean up it appraised at 70 thousand. I ended up doing a short sale on my house and then getting hit with a 10-99 at the end of the year for 34 thousand on my taxas. I was able to claim insolvency on that thanks to h&r block rep that was very helpful. I like i said lost most everything i owned and will have to deal with the short sale my credit will suffer at least 3 years. I will look into the blill that past here and try to let you know what i can to help.. So sorry for you and your family I hope you come out of it better that I did.

My wife and I unknowingly purchaced a home that was previously a meth lab. Now our home has been close to entry by th Utah board of health and we must pay for the clean up of this house . This is our only place of residence and currently having to stay with relatives. We struggled to come up with money for the down payment and now have no money to afford the cleanup of this house so we can move back to our home. We found out about the condition of our home about 2 weeks after we closed on the house and now nobody seems to want to help. We need help . We have been told all our belongings will need to be destroyed and properly disposed of due to contamination. We dont have much but we also dont have money to replaced everything in our home. The worst part is our hearing impared daughter doesnt understand she also has to give up all her personal belongings. We need help to pay for cleanup of our contaminated home and replacement of belongings. Its only everything we have that we have to loose and not our doings that caused this situation. We only were trying to have a decent safe home to live in and the only answers we seem to get is YOU BOUGHT IT NOW ITS YOUR PROBLEM . Please let us know if there is anything you can do to help or assist us .. Thank You   Steve Long

We have been put out of our house and have to loose all contents of our home and all personal belongings. Cloths, memories, pictures, appliances (stove, refrigerater, televisions , ) everything we have. We wont have beds couch chairs . Just think of all the things inside your home , we have to give all that up. Just because we bought a home that someone else previously produced methamphetamines in and now we are stuck with the cost of the clean up and cost to replace everything we own. All the things inside this house have to be disposed of due to contamination with hazardous chemicals ... that someone else caused. We loose EVERYTHING in our home that we only got to live in for two weeks from the day we closed. We were getting sick in our new home and after bringing in enviromental people who determined the house we just purchased is contaminated with hazardous chemical. so we loose everything.   Please help
